Palestine
That there is problem in the Palestine areas between Fatah and Hammas party is probably no news to anyone. That in the latest weeks there has been an escalation in the violence between these two groups for the power of the land area that is called Palestine. Some may say that this is due to the sanctions that the western world have put on the Palestine elected government, some may say that the blame should be put on the fighting parties. Regardless on who is to blame one thing puzzles me. The Arab states have put their support to President Abbas and that there is an "immediate and full halt" to the violence. To quote Amr Moussa, Arab League secretary-general "The Palestinian leaderships must now issue an order, not just to stop the fighting immediately but also to outlaw fighting, and to return to dialogue."
Seriously, human beings are dying. You may hate me for being born in the west. You may hate my government for being assholes. You may hate the Danish people for drawing pictures. It is your choice not to drink our milk. It is your right to pray 5 times a day. Just like it is my right to do the opposite (except the government thing I will never trust politicians of any breed).
YOUR people are dying; your Arabian, Palestinian, brothers and sisters, mothers, fathers, sons and daughters, Muslim and Christian, killing each other. And what do you do? What is your master plan? What are you doing that is so much better than the west? You tell the local leaders that they should stop? Pardon my French but what the fuck? Sending in the EU troops, NATO or UN is out of question in these areas. As long as the hate for the west is there the only option is 100% Arabic troops. You have the finances, you have the manpower, you have the weapons and you say that you have your people’s best interests in mind. You have the power to stop the senseless killings and all you do is say
stop and respect the elected politicians.
Perhaps it is because I am from the west, no mater how I twist and turn it I can not get away from that fact. And I try; I really try to understand the minds of politicians everywhere, even in Palestine. But I can not for the life of me understand why noone who can act do something. Instead they look like Swedish politicians, sit in their chairs, and say what they think the people wants to hear while they continue their corrupt way.
The same applies to Lebanon, Iraq, Afghanistan, African nations or anywhere else many people are dying so that a few number of people can benefit from the power and harvest the juicy fruits that are watered with the blood of your fellow human beings. No mater who’s to blame for it to start, YOU, present politicians, are to blame for it being continued.
But that is just me and my thoughts as a westerner.
